Brit Hume, for sure.

He seemed wryer than usual and a little irritable on election night, which surprised me a bit. Maybe he was just tired.

I think it was because he knew he had to spend time talking to Estrich. I'd get a bit snippy about that too.

Brit is an old chum of Kerry. Like Gore and some of the Bush family, they attended the same private prep school (St. Albans). Brit has mentioned this before on FNC.

Maybe he hadn't had much sleep. I said the same thing several times Tuesday night, that Brit looked like he was in bad need of some sleep at times. He made several slips and somewhat odd comments. He sounded like his normal self on Wednesday however.

I read where they got the news early on that the exit polls were wrong, so they wouldn't call a state until they were getting actual vote counts in. Brit made the comment that they should not have to pay whoever was providing the exit polls to them.

As the night wore on, he seemed to fumble his words more and more, and the look on his face suggested, to me at least, that he was very tired. He also made a crack or two about it being past his bedtime. I think he was just very tired.

That having been said...

I am a pretty decent amateur poker player and plan on taking on the pros in various tourneys within the next few years. Playing poker you are always making an effort to notice things about your opponents. How fast does he/she call? When they are faster to call (or slower) what kind of hand do they have? Does he watch the board, his cards, or the other players? How does he place his chips when he has a big hand? When he is bluffing? Trying to log all of that stuff in your mind in the middle of a game is a pretty big challenge. Which brings me to Fox News election coverage, and the contributions of Susan Estrich.

At first, I thought she was drunk. She seemed tight in her body language, which is not normal for her, and VERY loose in her speaking manner, which is also not normal for her. Then, when she stopped talking she threw on the phoniest, most obnoxious smile I have ever seen, at least when I was supposed to take it seriously. Though I definately did not hear any slurring in her voice, I immediately decided that she was drunk, or at least a little bit tipsy. Seeing her on Fox before always gave the impression that while a lefty, she was most definately not one of the stuck up, elitist lefties.

Then, the reports of the Dems cooking up exit polling numbers to puff themselves up started to surface. That they had used their own network of allies to get them out over the air to attempt to fool people into thinking that Kerry was winning. Then it hit me. She was not drunk, but lying through her teeth. She knew she was lying, and it showed, big time, IMHO. I believe that she used her role as a Fox News Contributor to spread DNC sanctioned lies in an attempt to influence the election, and personally, I would just as soon never see her ugly mug again. Unless, she happens to be sitting at my poker table...JFK

The first time I thought we were on trouble on Election Day was when Brit Hume came on about 3:00 PM and sounded straight out depressed about the exit poll data. As his mood lifted thought the night (and next morning) so did my confidence. On the other hand Judy Woodruff was positively giddy in the afternoon and suicidal later.

he worked a long shift. i especially liked it when about 2am a "klunk" was heard. britt mumbled something about the makeshift election night table starting to fall apart...(not as good as his treatment of susan ostrich, however)
