I am veeeeeeeery suspicious this is a hoax. It looks like a form letter ("Dear Friend") and there is no way even the most liberal Republican Senator would compose such a letter. It would have gotten out years ago.
Be very wary of this. I smell hoax.

You noticed too??? The last thing I want to see is FR being accused of spreading a forgery as the real article across the Internet. This document doesn't pass the "smell" test.
I am not a supporter of Specter. My entire family are die-hard Republicans and they voted against Specter because of the abortion issue. My parents, sisters and their family live in PA. I am originally from PA and I supported my family voting against Specter.
