Good heavens, you're nasty.
Fine... please enjoy the leftie-manufactured smoke-and-mirror crisis. "Count me on this round."
These days with the power of the new media, it's easier to see the leftist agenda in the old style media. At least for me anyway. :)
LOL - So what? So what if it's 9 years old? Show me proof that this isn't how he thinks today?
You must be pretty dense not to see his cheap shot the day after the election as proof of what he's made of.
Not trying to be nasty. Jut saving both of us the trouble of trying to change my point of view regarding Specter.
Keep talking, Arlen. We need your mouth to oust you from that Judiciary Committee chairmanship.
There's no crisis. I think you've mistaken the people who re-elected George W. Bush for memebers of the John McCain Fanclub.
No way does Specter head that committee without the fight of his life.
You don't come off the blocks making compromises. You make territorial gains while you have the mandate.
Specter can never make up for torpedoing Bork. He bought his time in political Purgatory, now he needs to go there.
It may be correct, all the dates and names check out (although Snowe was just elected to the Senate, kind of strange to name her). But you have no more evidence than Dan Rather, and I don't feel like getting burned. It does sound like Senator Scottish Law, though.
Excellent point... I agree. I used to sense it in the past and was very confused by it. I was even misquoted myself by a leftie in an article years ago and thought it was an accident, just misfortunate (LOL) that he chose verbiage that slanted my message to something completely different than the conservative one I spoke.
Now the leftie agenda is crystal clear in almost everything that drips off their poisoned pens... errr... computers ;-)
The thing is, we don't need this document as proof of what Specter is made of. Forget it - this man has sunk his ship "on the record" over and over again. We don't need fuzzy documents to whip up the conservatives.
I believe Specter denied that he ever made that "cheap shot".
I'm saying that this "cheap shot" may be a plant from the left.
Thanks to Specter we have Clarence Thomas. He also voted for the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, Laci's Law, and all of Bush's nominees to the bench.
If President Bush trusts him to head the Judiciary Committee handling his future nominees, so do I.
I apologize for implying that you're dense. That looked pretty awful now that I read my post again.
I just don't see how this would be a Dem plant. Why? All it's doing is giving the conservative right a mission.
Frist can't let this happen. If he wants to run in 2008, he can't be known as the Senate leader who allowed the Supreme Court nominating process to be held hostage by a nominal Republican.
I actually take great heart in knowing that we're not resting on our laurels. If there's any tin foil to this, I would offer that the Dems may have floated this to see how much power we're ready to wield...
He did. It was on Brit's show and Rush's show yesterday.
And I'm not trying to change your point of view about Specter, I dislike him intensely myself.
Just trying to point out that this flood of Specter-panic threads started with a single journalist claiming that Specter "warned" President Bush... an interpretation I found very shaky and one which Specter has denied.
I think the pressure will be good to keep Specter paying attention to conservatives and I applaud the letters and faxes, etc, but some of these posts have gone way overboard with Freepers vowing to sabotage Santorum if Specter winds up heading the committee. It's going too far when we begin savaging one of our finest conservative Senators... especially when this was a leftie-planted ambush to start.
I followed the Ira Einhorn "saga" until the end. I've never liked Arlen Spector because of his defense of this killer..not to mention his vote on Clinton's impeachment.
Well, heck, lots of FReepers do that too. The logical conclusion is that they're rowing the same boat as Specter.
Conservatives started talking about this before the MSM picked up on it. Please understand this.
I don't remember. I do remember two days before the election how the MSM had us bashing C. Hitchens for his support (FALSE) of Kerry.
