Talks with Don & Roma getting down to business

Now that Disney/ABC Radio has appointed a new boss for news/talk WLS-AM (890), the fate of morning stars Don Wade and Roma finally may be resolved at last.

But in taking so long to get down to business, ABC unwittingly allowed a door to open for the Wades at another Chicago station.

Four months after Zemira Jones left as president and general manager for a top operations post at Radio One, ABC this week named John Gallagher, a 19-year ABC veteran, as his successor. Gallagher, who most recently was director of sales at WJR-AM in Detroit, also will head Radio Disney's WRDZ-AM (1300).

Don and Roma will return to the WLS 890 airwaves on Monday. Teri & Art did a great job in their absence. It will good to hear their familiar voices again.

It was so nice to have (2) Republicans on with Art & Teri. I can't stand Roma and she makes Don defend himself all the time to her. Fire Roma and hire Ann Coulter!

I am a die hard Republican, but I love Roma, she used to send me through the roof, but that's her job, you know straight man to the nut case. I just can't stand her little (is it red or black) book. But it is the chemistry between those two that make them so great. I am mobilized to Camp Lejeune, NC and Don and Roma on the internet are my link to home. Cannot wait for Monday!!!!!!!!

Mr. Gallagher, if there was a REAL conservative show host in the morning I would listen. And put Hannity on at 3pm not the liberal.

Good move, but I'd still rather see WLS return to "Music Radio" and bring back Larry Lujack :-)

Since Don and Roma have been off the airways in Chicago I've taken to WIND (560AM) in the mornings listening to Bill Bennet "Morning in America. WIND has a line-up of pretty good conservative talk. Bennet is followed by Laura Ingram (sp) and in the evenings (6pm) with Micheal Savage.
I am upset with Don and Roma for being off-air during the runup to the election. I consider myself a WIND listener now. I will still return to 890 for Rush.

I don't miss D&R anymore. I guess I was never a big fan to begin with. I think they're highly paid drunks. I like Rush and Tony Brown. I like Terry O'Brien. I wish Roe would take a hike.
