Swedish police are leaving for Serbia-Montenegro in order to question t66-year-old Mirko Vuksic regarding the murder of Swedish PM Olof Palme.
Vuksic reportedly resembles the recently deceased Christer Pettersson. Vuksic lived in Sweden when Palme was killed in 1986, but he later moved to Serbia-Montenegro.
«We are going down to talk with the man and some other people,» confirmed Stig Edkvist, member of the Palme murder investigation group, to the Swedish paper Aftonbladet.
The paper revealed Friday that the group has been investigating Vuksic for several years.
Edkvist agreed that Vuksic physically resembles the recently deceased Christer Pettersson, who was sentenced and later acquitted for the murder of Swedish Prime Minister.
Moved from Sweden Vuksic has also earlier been questioned by Palme investigators, but after Petterssons death, the focus has once again shifted to the 66-year-old.
«I was down and talked to him some years ago, and we got his statement,» Edkvist said, and confirmed that Swedish police are going to question the man again. «What he said that time gave us basis to post some more questions.»
The man has for the past five years lived in a little town in Serbia-Montenegro.
Hated Palme When the murder of Palme took place, Vuksic lived in Stockholm, not far from the Palme family. Several witnesses the police have talked to stated that he hated Palme, and he several time expressed his anger in regards to the Swedish Prime Minister.
Edkvist said that it is not an issue at this time to demand the man extradited to Sweden.
Isn't it Doppleganger or something like that?
I thought this article was about group sex or something by the title...
Forget about the Plame story. It's been a red herring from the start. No one but the liberal press, horny for a chance to whip the Bush adminstration, care one iota about this concocted "story".
Swedish ping!
Plame, Palme, six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Is Olaf Palme's doppleganger actually Valery Plame?
Sound familiar, Swedish Ping List? An ethnic Serb, living in Sweden, murdering a high-ranking Swedish official whom he hated? Recall Mijailo Mijailovic's murder of Foreign Minister Anna Lindh in 2003.
