The reason for the failure of the Democrats to get Kerry elected is due to their ignorance of the character of President Bush.
They made the issue about DEMOCRATS vs. REPUBLICANS.
The issue was not that Bush was a Republican, and therefore he was the bad guy that Democrats insist Republicans are.
The issue was George Bush's character as an individual.
The Democrats picked a man to support whose character had 'nuances' that many voters do not like. His campaign staff went all out to try and convince the public that he had the 'traits' that the people desired, when in truth, he did not.
He tried to HIDE his flaws, and stage having traits he did not.
President Bush has never tried to hide his traits or flaws.
He has always responded to critcisms (now and when running for governor) by stating that his record is open and available to the public. He has never tried to defend his character for that reason. He doesn't have to.
He has stood his ground on his personal convictions and political convictions, even when it would risk his 'popularity'.
I didn't vote for President Bush because he was a Republican. I voted for him because of who HE WAS.
He emulated the highest ideals of the REPUBLICAN PARTY. Some Republicans do, some don't. Some Democratic politicians emulate the ideals of the Democratic party, but I think it reasonable to say MOST DON'T.
THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. THAT IS WHY THEY LOST MORE THAN THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT, this time.
The behavior and words of the lunatic libs like Pelosi Galore after the election will damage their party even more.
Americans hate whining losers, and they are seeing the rotten side of life's losers.
Keeping whining Pelosi.
