Newsweek doesn't understand. Kerry was doing his impression of Jon Lovitz playing Dukakis in a 1988 Saturday Night Live debate sketch.

There are a lot of people out here in flyover country who can spot a phony a mile off and Kerry is certainly a phony.

It says a lot about how graceless this man is that when he was asked how he liked the SNL spoofing of him, he had to point out that he thought Will Farrell's scathing portrayal of Bush as a daddy's boy with fifth-grade habits and intellect was, and I quote, "too nice."
Well, enough said about Kerry. We'll all be forgetting about him soon enough, seeing him only on C-SPAN and SNL reruns.

Senator, if you and your billion-dollar backers can't even topple an "idiot," what does that make you? That is why the Dems have to invent the "Evil Genius". (Rove.) This basically gives credit to someone other than Bush the candidate. They can live with this easier than the real truth.

Yeah,
It is funny that a smart, sophisticated, polished, well-spoken man could lose to a stupid, simple, crude bumbler./sarcasm.
Again, how incredibly stupid and arrogant.

Thank the Lord President Bush won reelection!
Now Mr. sKerry can go back to his nondescript Senate career.
He will always be a "nobody" as he doesn't have the intelligence to be "somebody."
BUT, he did a great job of place holding and paving the way for The Hildabeaste's effort in 2008.
Bring it on, Bitch!

I have no doubt that Kerry probably thinks this way but the actual quotation is probably phony.
Charles Krauthammer wrote a column a while back about a chess master who said this exact thing about his opponent. This quote is an urban legend in my opinion.
