Citizen Shame tries to unload online
Apparently unable to cope with four more years of George W. Bush in the White House, New York Democrat Jason Eaton tried to sell his U.S. citizenship to the highest bidder.
The day after President Bush beat Sen. John Kerry in the election, Eaton - a 32-year-old Greenwich Village resident and children's book author - listed his citizenship on eBay.
The very modest starting price was $10.
Eaton's online description: "Absolutely priceless in 2000, its value has been steadily decreasing over the last four years. It is only in fair condition now, but can certainly be enjoyed by the many gun owners, warmongers, creationists, plutocrats and homophobes that make up 51% of the country."
Yesterday, Eaton told Lowdown: "This was the only thing I could do to feel better about the election. The only element of seriousness is that I'm seriously horrified by what happened.
"For four years, you think: It's the administration, not the American people. And now you realize it is the American people - 51% of them. Living in New York makes you forget that."
In the first 12 hours, multiple bidders placed their bets and the price jumped to $24. But by yesterday afternoon, the auction site had removed the listing, with eBay spokesman Hani Durzy explaining:
"You must legally be able to sell the item to list it on eBay."
Leftist angst and agony -- the gift that keeps on giving! :)
"'the gift that keeps on giving!"
Ha!
Heard Ron Kuby say that his 'paramour' considered the re-election of President Bush the same as 9/11.
I think citizenship in Iran could be arranged......
Oh. You mean like Al Gore did, for cash... right? :)
Leave it to liberals to think that American citizenship can be bought or sold.
Schadenfreude bump! :-)
That nice warm feeling of Schadenfreude is sweeping over me.
Um.... I bet a ton of people around the world would kill to come to this gun toting, plutocrat, homophobe paradise.
Some people just do not get what thise country is about. Maybe we should set aside a place for all the Blue people to migrate to.
Finally, a little bit of reality from the insulated left. So many of them, like the elitists at the NYT, surround themselves only with like-minded self-reighteousness that they completely lose touch with reality.
Truth is, if their sort didn't have a near monopoly on the media, there would be far more than the 51% blocking their "progressive" destruction of America.
after this low life debris gets his twenty some dollar payoff, do we get the pleasure of watching him move out? If he promises to leave the country and never ever return I may be interested in bidding myself.
Why would anyone pay much for it. Sounds like it has been misused and is probably defective.
Just another example of the leftists truly believing the rules are for the masses they seek to manipulate, and do not apply to the enlightened elite.
I'm guessing the atmosphere in N.Y.C is the same as here in Boston.(post election wise.)
Pretty glum.
The "re-defeat Bush" and "Kerry Edwards" bumper stickers that were annoying a week ago have now been transformed.
I get a happy little feeling knowing the Liberal who so proudly pasted them onto the bumper of his Volvo has had all the hatred they projected onto the President turned inward and has made their defeat even more painful.
"You must legally be able to sell the item to list it on eBay."
I bet there is a mental competency requirement as well!
No doubt Eaton has already sold his soul to the Democrats!
But would'nt it be funny if the feds showed up at his door tomorrow morning, thru him in a van, drove him to the airport, put him on a plane to Havana and said " If you come back, ever , we will shoot you in the face on Pay-per-view. Now get the f*** on that plane"

My wife runs all the Pay-Per View events on the West Coast...she can set it up.
