Whitney was due to sing...

'I will always love you, and you, and you, and you, and you and you, and you too, and you, and you...'

Why say it's a 'scheduling conflict?' Why not say 'I don't want to be associated with the freakin' MOONIES?'

Marriage is between A man and A woman, not 360,000 of each who've never even seen each other before that. A travesty of marriage.

This is what you do to solidify familial, financial, and political power when the country first started.
Many other industrialized nations do the same thing - the fetish of sleeping around to find the perfect mate for right now is American. Works wonders doesn't it.
You might want to look outside your own homo agenda and Leftist American culture to understand what marriage is before you trash it.

Rev. Moon claims that 36 US presidents (speaking from "spirit world") have proclaimed him "Lord of the Second Advent, the Messiah, the Savior and True Parent of Humanity. Are you Moonies going to save us all?

I don't know who he is, I don't know what his deal is.

However, if he has followers, you have no right to besmirch their religion any more than our Jewish, Catholic or other folks of faith.

Free Republic does not tolerate it.

Too many cowards afraid to offend this crazy SOB. He has far too much money and political influence for anyone's good. He could just as soon turn his paper into a liberal mouthpiece. In this case, it isn't the messsage, but the messenger that is frightening. He is a travesty of religion, politics, and every other feature of cultural life.

That is fine.
Our Founding Fathers and early Patriots of this country had arranged marriages just to survive - what Moon does is vastly different from what early Americans did, and I see red when people link our early Christian Patriots with whatever Moon does. This is the Leftist talking point and this is their attempt to strip our religious freedoms and create a secular EU.

I have little tolerance for it.

frickin moonies destroyed a family I lived near back in the 80's. It took them years to retrieve their son and daughter and get them back to their own lives.

Shame that Whitney Houston traded in her talent to be such a drug-addled loon. (Her publicist at least shook enough sense into her to get her to cancel this one.)

Not to besmirch anybody, but this guy is a nutjob. How many 'followers' must one have to be called a relegion instead of a whacko cult? BTW, this article is from '97 (donning flame-proof pj's)
