if folks responded in kind to such obvious threats to life and limb... two or three corpses would change the atmosphere of this nation.
nixon's guardsmen killed a couple of kids rioting (no, no they were innocent I tell ya...) and threatening mayhem on the kent state campus.
at the time inner city minorities were rioting and burning EVERY major city in the USA. the riots ended in about 72 hours as other national guardsmen were called out, and government officials read protestors and rioters, the 'riot act'.
