When coming from the left, this sort of rhetoric always means one thing only: "you conservatives must accept our point of view while we chastise you for yours." ALWAYS!

Melinda,
no.
When the Dims get on their knees, apologize for all the crapflinging, and shut up entirely for three months straight, then I might be interested in opening up a dialogue.

Before the country can find common ground, those with differing political views must be willing to listen to each other. The left doesn't get it. We dont WANT common ground, and we don't CARE what they have to say.

The concessions are going to come from the losers this time.
You can lead them to a mandate, but you can't make them think!

Interesting exposition on how the author lives in a closed society of hateful lefties. Anyone in her locale who questions the left is fearful of recrimination. But that is how the left operates.
As for Kerrry's "concession" speech, it was surly and defiant. He clearly didn't want to reach out to anybody.

With the left... bipartisanship ALWAYS means that conservative set aside their beliefs and values and give into demands from the liberals.

...those with differing political views must be willing to listen to each other. John Kerry has conceded; now its time for the rest of us to do the same. We've just been through hell listening to the "other" for months now. Enough! I'm tired of them doing all the talking and expecting us to do all the listening. Now it's time for use to concede?...what?? Full speed ahead, damn the liberals and the conciliators.

The only problem is that talking to a dimwit demo is like getting into a mud-wrestling match with a pig.
You get yourself sloppy dirty and the pig loves it.

A woman at my sons school recently asked me to coffee, but then added, As long as youre not voting for Bush. Youre not, are you?Hee heeeeeee....my wife works at an elementary school and she said when she walked into the staff room yesterday morning there was a group of teachers sitting around the table looking all gloomy. She walked in and the first words out of one of the teacher's mouth was, "Well, we lost."
My wife said she practically had to bite her lip to keep from smiling and saying, "What do you mean 'we' white woman?"

After Bush's 2000 win, we tried "power sharing" with them and they spit in our faces. No more - we got the senate, the house and the presidency. Now it's time for our agenda.

My younger brother told me we should "agree to disagree" after I blew up at him yesterday on the phone.
We were talking about the Obama-Keyes race, and he made the crack that "at least he got a black Senator out of the deal."
"What the hell are you talking about, you would have had a black Senator in either event," I replied.
"Well, not really," he said. "After all, Keyes doesn't exactly subscribe to the beliefs of the majority of the black community."
I blew up and completely went off on him. He tried to use the "just agree to disagree" line dismissively on me. That didn't help. I started yelling louder.
Next he tried asking me who was playing ball on the tube.
"I don't know, and I don't care," I yelled.
"I'd better talk to you later," finally said.
"Fine," I yelled, and slammed the phone down.
I haven't talked to him since. I figure he MAY call Sunday -- most likely after he tells my mom that I chewed him out and hung up on him.
"Agree to disagree." I guess the phrase works -- as long as you don't use it as a sneering epithet, which so many libs like to do.
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
