Rove did a very good job with the turnout effort.

My criticism of him still stands - for months, starting during the spring, he allowed the Dems to run alot of hateful 527 ads in the swing states, and did not rebut them. this election didn't need to be this close, it could have been a 5-7% popular vote win, rather then 3%.

and if it wasn't for the swift vets, I don't even want to think of where we would be right now.

Agreed. These fellows are the unsung heroes of this whole election. They hung it out in the breeze and took a lot of licks but they got the bastard. The WH may not officially recognize them but they need one heck of a gift basket.

Personally, I don't see how Rove could have forced the MSM to provide air time to rebut the pro-Kerry 527s the way they were more than willing to do against the SBVs.

I agree. That should have had press conferences setting the record straight. The onslaught went on way, way too long without being answered. Their own movie should have been out immediately after Moore's. We knew a year ahead of time that he was making his hit piece.

I really think that this might have been part of Roves strategy. This constant Bush bashing worked against the Dems and I think fostered a real anger among not only Christian conservatives but also good Americans. In my opinion, this anger is what motivated many people to get out and vote. I have only praise, respect and a profound sense of gratitude towards Karl Rove.

Good grief!!! Did you really think our President should be giving daily press releases? He would have been slammed for that and you know it. Polls throughout the campaigns said both sides ran a negative campaign...and the public didn't like it!

You need to quite whining....

I think he was counting on the short attention span of the average voter, and blew the money late in the race. I mean, there must be a lot of voters who vote based on the last convincing TV propaganda ad they saw, or the number of Bush/Cheney or or Kerry/Edwards signs they saw erected on peoples' lawns. Otherwise, why bother with all that? People ought to be voting on who these people are, based on their record, their past history, but....
