Gay marriage is morally right? Morally right? It just goes to show that the are at least a generation away from figuring out what is happening.
Unbelievable.

the intensity of their happiness can't match the intensity of our despair

But it feels better.

"What Went Wrong?"

Umm, your ideas suck, your candidate was a flip-flopping spineless Communist and you are generally sour, disconnected people that want to lord over others to make yourselves feel better...that's for starters.

This will be, at least with regard to our public institutions, Tom DeLay's America--craven toward the economically powerful and vicious toward the economically weak, contemptuous of open debate and thuggish toward an increasingly embittered world.

We are contemptuous of intellectually vacant debate, and we are thuggish toward those who want to destroy us and our way of life. Vicious toward the economiccaly weak? No way. How about the parasites? Not vicious, but we'll toss them aside.

Don't pay any attention to Beinart. He's a flaming homo that thinks that brown is beautiful.

Democrats have already essentially abandoned gun control.

The RATs have only abandoned gun control because they are out of power.

Never forget that Lurch himself wanted the AWB back.

If we are ever foolish enough to elect a RAT majority in either house, expect to lose your guns within a year. The only possible antidote is for W to get 4 SCOTUS appointments with the cojones to take on a 2A case.

The other side may be euphoric, but the intensity of their happiness can't match the intensity of our despair.

Wanna bet, loser? Har-Har Hearty Har-HAR!

Honest conservatives, even those who admire President Bush, know he didn't earn a second term.

I'm an honest Conservative...and I know, from balls to bones, that Bush earned this election in spades! After all the Leftist media sniping, all the 527 bullcrap, and the incessant lies from Kerry/Edwards, Bush earned this election hands-down. Deal with it.

They know he staked his presidency on a catastrophe, and that, by all rights, Iraq should be his political epitaph.

Iraq is more of a success than the Leftist media will admit. Fortunately, real Americans can appreciate that simple fact. It's the Fifth Column's useful idiots that think it's all going to hell.

Their victory, while sweet, can't be fully enjoyed because it isn't fully deserved.

My sweet aching foot it ain't deserved. It's richly deserved and a poke in the eye to all the Leftists who tried to bully, buy and intimidate Americans! We won, baby! And we won BIG!

But cultural sensitivity is one thing; principle is another.

Democrats know nothing of principle. They gladly put their own party ahead of national security. To hell with any claim Democrats may make on "principle"!

In their attempts to win rural voters, Democrats have already essentially abandoned gun control.

And rightly so. Gun control is the antithesis of American freedom. And to hell with anyone who says otherwise!

That doesn't keep me up at night. But gay marriage is different. The fact that it is widely unpopular cannot obscure the fact that it is morally momentous and morally right...

There's nothing moral about gay marriage. The gay "lifestyle" is the antithesis of marriage. And woe be unto anyone who tries to redefine a holy covenant to accommodate that perversion.

Oh, yes it can. In fact, their despair is the icing on our happy cake! Woo hoo!

Um...I'm an honest conservative, and I'll honestly say that sentence is one of the most clueless, arrogant, stupid, out-of-touch piles of baloney ever written. This guy thinks we back people who we know are bad in the name of winning because that's what he and his ilk do.

They might only figure it out when they end up as a third party and all the real fights are between the GOP and the Libertarians.

"They know he staked his presidency on a catastrophe, and that, by all rights, Iraq should be his political epitaph"

Iraq is a win, and the only hope our enemies had there was defeatist traitors here at home snatching from our servicemen the victory their valor has already ensured. Now that commie Dems have been rebuked, they will achieve that victory in no uncertain terms. By the time of the by election, let alone the next presidential one, Iraq will be free sovereign and at peace with its neighbors, and a friend to its liberator, the US. And for his political courage in bringing that about, Bush will be remembered in history, long after this writer and all the Dems who nod at his words are nothing but dust.

No, they will never understand it, period.

Treat them as such.
