The Teresa We Always Suspected
NRO The Kerry Spot ^ | 11/04/04 | Jim Geraghty

Posted on 11/04/2004 3:52:30 PM PST by gubamyster

Coming in Newsweek soon:

Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, presented a host of behind-the-scenes drama for Kerry. Early on, the campaign staff regarded Teresa as something of a hypochondriac, and she canceled three trips in October at the last minute, usually for what was described to aides as a "nonspecific malady." Kerry's first campaign manager, James Jordan, had little patience for her strong opinions, sending emails trashing the candidate's wife...which inevitably reached his rivals within the campaign, including Bob Shrum (an old Teresa friend) and helped seal Jordan's eventual dismissal.

One of the reasons I began to suspect Bush would win in the final days before the campaign was wondering how America would react to Teresa Heinz-Kerry as First Lady. There really has been no woman even remotely like Teresa in the White House.

Translation: the bitch was hung over.

You are correct. We've never had a gypsy woman as 1st Lady.

Otherwise known as the "Gin Flu"

How much did she really support her husband's bid for the white house?

Being nuts is one thing. Being a lush is another.

Judging from what I saw of Tah-RAY-Zah and her gin-soaked raisin antics, I'd say she's a full-blown alcoholic.

Oh what a nightmare just imagining her as first lady. Laura is such a class act...it would have been terrible to replace her with such trash.

I thought the idea was to eat the raisins after nine days not drink gin for nine days and then eat the raisins.

Hillary Clinton was bad in a very different way. Hillary always was politically calculating. She saw everthing through a political prism. Theresa sees everything through a Vodka bottle. She's just plain nuts. Oh wait, she rich, so she's just plain ECCENTRIC!

True. Like I've been saying; Laura Bush is like everyone's sweetheart. Teresa Heinz-Kerry is like everyone's mother-in-law.

I spent the last few days before the election praying for the strength to accept the results if they didn't go the way I wanted, to be a good sport, and all that. I tried to picture a Kerry win, a Kerry inauguration, a Kerry presidency. I really didn't think Kerry would win, but I wanted be ready in case I was disappointed. But whenever I tried to picture Teresa as first lady, it just would...not...compute. My mind couldn't grasp the concept. As Christopher Hitchens said, she's "ghastly".

That was no "physician." That was a bartender.
