The CBS/Rather pajamadeen affair was like a sledgehammer that brought the power of the internet into very tight focus for lib operatives. The experience was far-reaching sudden, and served as their Pearl Harbor --how likely is it that they wouldn't adopt similar weapons the next time around, for the election?

But now we meet screeches of, "The bloggers are to blame!" and we, too, are tarred with the same brush.

Now this is bothersome, to be sure; we used the net to FIGHT the fallacious exit polls, we didn't promulgate them. But another effect of this slight is that elites will take their eyes off us once again; we're not to be listened too, see?

Well, that's good --that's the lofty arrogance that got us started, and that's the snooty elitism we need to keep going. I, for one, am not going to stop and I don't think you are going to, either.

So police up your gear and get ready for the next round --this is fun!

And remember Reagan's words, "There is no limit to a man's potential as long as he doesn't care who gets the credit..."

what is missed is that the information even erroneous, was brought out into the harsh light of day by the blogs.

i'd rather have *wrong* information and be the one to decide what information i'll accept. i definitely won't allow NBCBSNYTIMEABCNN decide for me (which is really what all this is about -- they claim a monopoly on "truth").

the net as a corrobaration tool i can use to my own satisfaction to verify some blog fact (another blog analyzing *why* the exit poll blog is wrong!).

Since the information spread so quickly, at least some folks could compare what the phoney exit polls with other evidence available - a fake poll saying Va. was going Democratic? come on! it didn't jive with the reports on FR about the long lines in small towns everywhere and empty ones in the big cities, reports that cropped up time and time again...

i think the danger was that the exit poll show up unobtrusively AFTER the polls closed, as Morris suggests was the game plan with leftist stooge media crying fraud where there was none, and that plan went awry thank God!

What Morris suggests shows true disregard for the spirit of democracy and that is what i find most sinister and corrosive of our electoral process...
