I agree with the notion that this gets it on one level. The 36 year bit. The part that annoys me is the sense of resignation of participation in the Republic and society. During Carter and Clinton I felt distanced from the MSM view of what America was, but I still participated.

What this 'crat seems to be saying is, "I now get it. I don't fit and I'm absolved for civic and personal responsibility because I'm not who this country is". Pretty silly when you think about it.

No, I think the word would be immature, it is the same as I am going to take my ball and go home.

He did not get his way, and now does not want to "play" anymore.

In a nutshell, this liberal has taken his football, and, wiping his nose on his sleeve, has headed home.

He's got 4 years until he's officially middle aged. Perhaps he will grow up yet.
