This should be the first thing passed. We should standardize voting by requiring some form of ID to vote. I worked the polls in TEXAS. We don't require a photo ID but we require some form of ID. As long as they are on the rolls, we accept any form of ID such as credit cards, printed checks with their name on it or driver's license. I don't understand why this is such a big deal.

Good question, you ask. Part of the battle, I've learned, is that Dems (Diane Feinstein, Barbara Jordan) continue to regularly wish to pass the "Citizen ID" or "national ID"; and the more inane of the liberals wish for a "global citizen" id. The conflicting idea here... is that adding an "ID" factor into the equasion of voting muddies or grows the initial problem -- that problem of corruption. It's a point to consider.

As an interim, yes it would be nice if Driver's Licenses could be used to "fortify" proof of citizenship at the polls.

You wanna hear some irony? Take the tobacco companies offering special "miles" bonus gifts. Did you know, in order to use those "miles" and get those bonus gifts, one must send in a photocopy of their driver's licenses? Imagine that... more proof required here, than at our own election booths.
