Uhhhhhhhh...NO. Look at what the democrats have been able to muck up with a narrow Republican lead; you want to keep us effectively at that same lead? Nuh-uh.

Welcome newbie (Zot ?)
No, we don't want to push any Republicans into Jeffords' party. We want a filibuster proof coaltion of 55 Republicans and at least 5 Democrats, to ram strict and fair judges who interpret the Constitution, but do not legistlate from the Bench, down your liberal throat.
Cheers

When the show up, I think that they should be given the option to come on board and fall inline or leave the party effective ASAP! We have the seats to spare and we can target Snowe in 2 years! Funny how this sounds like more like a Democrat's strategy.

Now that the GOP has won, they begin to eat themselves. They can become a minority before the next election without any help from the Democrats. It's fun to watch.
At least the party will keep its precious bodliy fluids.

They are as good as DEMS now! Chafee already announced he is considering leaving...I say show him the door and take his power...as for the rest, they will not leave after seeing what happened to "Jumping Jim".

No, we need to get as close as we can to a super majority, otherwise the Dems will filibuster everything.
To: Lo1618
I dunno. I'd prefer targeting vulnerable Democrats.
I mean, Olypia Snowe may suck, but it's Maine. I'd trade Barbara Boxer for Olympia Snowe, so be careful what you wish for.

You guys are shocking me.........we will never get to a superior majority with them...and if we do, they will be the most powerful Senators! Did you learn anything after Jeffords jumpped??? They will be the power brokers....take the top 3 things you would want the true REPS to do with a super majority, and then think if Chafee, Snowe or Specter would go along with it???
Hell, Specter is already telling the President what to do 1 day after Bush tossed him a lifevest and got him re-elected.

What we should do is go to Zell Miller and offer him some sort of post in Congress if he changes parties. That ought to roust a few Dems. They haven't woken up!

The dims were in power for many years, and acted like obnoxious jerks.
Frist is a class act, and will get far more done by being a gentleman, and do far more good for the reps.

Here's a question for you. "Who are we going to get elected in Rhode Island that's any better than Chaffee?" If Chaffee goes there is a 95% chance he will be replaced with a dim and then we'll have one more senator trying to block us. Even if a different Republican were elected in RI he would be liberal too.
On the other hand I do think we should have dumped Spector in the primary.
To: Mr Mimi
Ummm.
Zell Miller is retiring. That's why a Republican weas just elected yesterday to fill his seat.

They are as good as DEMS now! When, like me, your Senators are Stabenow and Levin, Collins and Snowe sound pretty good.

The do have to be brought into line. No one squeaky voice has the same leverage on Wednesday morning that they had on Tuesday. Specter should be paid back now and often for that big mouth of his.
