Did you know that at any one time, there is only a 2-day supply of food on Manhattan Island, including restaurants and food stores?Did you know this is only a slightly smaller amount than the supply of food in most of the rest of the nation? Look up "just-in-time inventory" on Google sometime.
In the event of some massive catastrophe, you're going to be screwed within three or four days no matter where you live, unless you're a farmer or have a massive Y2K-style TEOTWAWKI dried food supply in your bomb shelter.
