To: Dave in Eugene of all places

I think Lars might owe a few favors to the law enforcement agencies in the area, and I think I have figured out why that might be the case. Nothing concrete, but he did tell me two or so years ago that the Clark County (WA) sheriff did hime a favor a few years prior. If you have ever seen Lars at a public function, you might be able to figure out what I suspect.

Well - I haven't, but I could guess. That sort of thing is a Portland tradition, and maybe Clark County is close enough.

He did seem to be a bit ticked at them yesterday though, based on some of the things he said. But what the heck he can't run for President anyway because he wasn't born in the US.

Not sure what you mean here, I've worked Talkfest at the Rose Garden each of the last two years and Lars was excellent, better than either O'Reilly or Snow. He is definitely passionate about law enforcement and while I may not be as strident as he is, as the stepson of a lifelong policeman, I can sympathize with what cops have to deal with day in and day out.
