Didn't say it was Reed, but when one hears 'prominent Left wing University' in the Portland area, it's the first school that comes to mind. on the other hand, Reed is populated by a bunch of pacifists, so it might not be the one.

It could have ben Portland State University. My wife went there to complete her degree and I was amazed at how whacked out that place was
