Great to see another dem fall in Indiana. Thanks to redistricting, our conservative, republican rural counties of Jasper and Benton have been handed over to Lake cty dem congressman Visclosky. Any ideas on how to get our representation back? Hopeless I 'spose, strictly a numbers game. But it sure doesn't feel very good having our elected republicans jerked away from us.
Maybe they have vanished... But Senator Zell Miller (D-Georgia) was one of them...
Two races for race will require a December runoff, I believe. Maybe there are more in Louisiana.
The two runoff races that I know of in Louisiana are: one for the seat of Billy Tauzin (retiring) and the 7th (Chris John ran for Senate and lost).
I believe Billy Tauzin III is running for the Billy Tauzin seat (Republican). The other is a Democrat seat that could switch to Republican (7th district).
Yes.
LA Democrats boasted on Thursday that they will win BOTH of the open House seats in the Dec. 4 general elections, the seats being vacated by Billy Tauzin, II, and Chris John. Still, it seems to me that Republicans could take both of these races, but they of course may fall a few points short.
