This way Bush can afford to be the gracious victor and take even more steam out of the Dems.

Good point. If he waits for Lurch to concede, he can make light of what's happened. If not, he'll have to be serious. I'd also rather wait for the smirk, so long as doing so doesn't threaten a victory.

I would not declare victory until Kerry concedes

On the other hand, if Bush speaks first, then Kerry can exclaim, "You don't have to get snippy about it!!"

I agree, Bush has class and knows to only use force if absolutely necessary.

Hitlery may call Kerry and suggest he give up so that she will not have a totally wounded party to try to deal with in 2008. Funny that the Klintoon curse has struck again, only worse this time. Never have Billious campaign for you if you expect to win.

Yes, it would be a class act should Kerry concede the election with grace. Remember, Al Gore already did that once, and remember what happened? I was right there live on line for it all. It's SEARED into my memory.

Frankly, I don't think the Bush Admin should wait at all for Kerry's concession -- no. Kerry never apologized during the past year of heinous lies and ad hominems. He not once denounced the terrorists echoing his own campaign. No.

Bush camp will announce Victory, IME, when more of the SOLID (not speculated, not "so-called") votes are stamped and sealed. As much as a pain as that can be. But patience is a virtue. Furthermore, as more of the details come back to Bush Admin/Campaign.. a much better, more cohesive plan can be construed, designed, and laid out for not just the American citizenry, but to our neighboring countries around the world.

Let the loser take his time

Okay. But define 'time'.

Bush should give Kerry a deadline and stick to it. I'd give him until 5pm today. Every minute that Bush hangs around doing nothing decreases his legitimacy.

So while I agree with you that there's a certain amount of class in giving the loser time, space and peace to do what has to be done, with everything there is only so much patience to go around.

Hey, all of America is waiting for Bush to do this, don't kid yourself.

Give Kerry a generous deadline but DO THE DEED.

I'll argue with you all day that Bush should be declaring victory TODAY.

I really wish they would wait til Kerry concedes.

Be assured that the Bush camp is giving Kerry time to concede. I'm sure that a message was sent, putting a deadline as to the time, however.

I absolutely want Bush to delcare Victory TODAY. The reason...because the NETWORKS think they can delay this by not calling the remaining states for Bush. If he delcares Victory, he makes them IRRELEVANT!
