My source for the 2000 figures was RealClearPolitics (which gave the vote to tenths accuracy, I rounded consistently, with .5% rounding up).
My source for the 2004 figures was the CSpan electoral map:
http://network.ap.org/dynamic/files/specials/election_night_2004/us_map_govsenhouse/index.html?SITE=CSPANELN&SECTION=POLITICS
If my calculations are accurate, and I believe they are, this is HUGE. Talk about a -mandate-!

I'm not sure what to make of it. My instinct is that this is a fairly significant event.

You think the MSM and politicians will ever get the message that the RATS has moved too far to the left?
I predict that we will see a mass shift in the RAT party to the right.

That makes me feel better, I just wish Kerry would've been defeated by a 65/35 margin. Scary such a commie lib could make it so close.

Hawaii... Bush lost big in the rural areas, but in Honolulu county it was a fairly close race.
Pot heads and underinformed majorities in the rural areas vote Democrat in Hawaii. Should've thought about counting them. (These are the rural areas on the other islands.)
