If the numbers bear your analysis out, I'd call it brilliant.
But that's not the only issue that brought people out. His perversion of the Catholic faith brought many out as well.
I think the moral issue would have been huge even if those amendments weren't on the ballots, though.

john kerry lost the election because of the state supreme court of massachusets ruling on gay marriageConsider the possibility that Kerry lost because he is an arrogant, vacuous, narcissistic, self-centered, cowardly, lugubrious, ignominious, traitorous, despicable, pusillanimous P.O.S.

"His perversion of the Catholic faith brought many out as well."
How insightful. PBA is not just a Catholic issue, its a HUMAN issue. To say you won't bring your faith in to shade this abhorrent procedure is really the sign of a first class panderer!

Logical. The nation saw an unelected court trying to run the country, and said "NUFF" already.
(Actually when the DU'ers see it was just a old college bet between two Skull and Bones members, they might realize they've been duped)

His perversion of the Catholic faith brought many out as well.you are correct on that one.
kerry's last minute pitch to the religious right was unsuccesful. perhaps most saw through his last miniute flip-flop in campaign strategy.

I think the moral issue would have been huge even if those amendments weren't on the ballots, though. i hope you are correct because that means a very meaningful change back to the conservative side. i hope moral issues continue to be a major factor in the years to come.

It's really the New York Times (via its ownership of the Boston Globe) that pushed for a narrow judicial decision in the State Supreme Court. I wonder how they feel now?

I wonder how they feel now?great observation! i am thinking that nyt has al-qaqaa on their faces right now.

I really wonder if those exit polls played some part, too. I was following the live thread where people posed their voting experience. A number of posters reported crowds in the morning everywhere, but in the afternoon and evening, they reported conservative precincts still crowded and liberal Dem precincts empty. Overconfidence? Hoist with their own petard? Every other nasty thing they've tried this election has backfired -- why not this too?
