We've had three Japanese exchange students from Kagoshima and they were a credit to their parents and their nation. Hosting exchange students widened our knowledge of Japan and its people. Our students were extremey mannerly, thoughtful and respectful of their families and others. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

What a gift it is to be able to host exchange students!

We did it for about twelve years. Our guests were mostly from Germany, Lithuania, Latvia and Brazil.

I feel that we learned more from them than they learned from us. Now that our granddaughter got her own apartment, thus freeing a bedroom, I'm ready to host the students again. It is one of the best things I've ever done.

I strongly urge anyone who is able to do this, to open their homes and hearts to these wonderful young people. You won't be sorry.
