The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

Was that a post from yesterday? I can't seem to find that post.

in the 8th paragraph

"All that we have to do is to send two Mujahedin to the farthest point East to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al-Qa'ida in order to make the generals race there to cause America to suffer human economic and political losses ..." couple that with "4" & high-rises - and the fact that someone looking at the US on a world map - Florida may look like the '"farthest point East" - and that Florida was the state of contention in 2000 - and an easy jump to site from Cuba... and if it went for Bush this time???? Just thoughts wafting around in my head...What point in Florida might come to your head?

So true, Arafat has been brain dead. Arafat could have done right by his people a few years ago if he could have successfully accepted the peace proposal under clintoon (I hate to say that...) and worked very hard to get his people to accept it too.

But I guess the Palis really do want Israel to cease to exist. It is such a sad situation.

Thanks so much for that link. I have not seen that one particular line in any other translation that I have read.

At first glance, it appears ubl is saying that anywhere al qaeda goes will be a place that attracts our soldiers as part of our attempt to kill al qaeda. In doing so, America is spending much money and tying up resources.

Who knows what other meanings lurk beneath the surface for ubl and his cells. You have a very interesting theory.

November 4th is the anniversary of the following two items:

1.) Twenty-five years ago, on Nov. 4, 1979, the Iranian hostage crisis began as militants stormed the United States Embassy in Tehran, seizing its occupants. For some of the hostages, it was the start of 444 days of captivity.

2.) In 1995, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by a right-wing Israeli minutes after attending a festive peace rally.

Although...if they play it on the 'Today's Harvest' programme it'll be at 3pm EST, 8pm GMT,  according to the Sky EPG.

So keep an eye on http://english.aljazeera.net/HomePage in the hours leading up to that time, in case they mention the tape in advance like they did last week.

I thought it was quite funny when a banner flashed across the screen on Sky News saying "Isreali television reports Arafat is brain dead." I think they've been saying that for years!
