Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
I'm in! Please make me down for two!
Thanks,
I orginally said I would come if I can get off work.
I am off work and will be there! One ticket only.
Love to have 2 tickets!
Tom
I'm wondering, since I spent so much money yesterday on Christmas, if someone were to not be able to afford the money for the ball, is it still possible to stand at the parade with the other Freepers? And, can that person not get into the freeper ball and meet everyone without a ticket? I just want to meet everyone so bad. Don't get me wrong, I still want to come up with the $$ and most likely will. Don't remove me from any list quite yet. ;)
I'd like two.
You'll be able to stand with your fellow FReepers along the parade route. Also, we will probably have a pre-Inaugural dinner gathering on Wednesday the 19th. But that is something we'll start planning later next month once we get most of the Ball details settled.
If you're standing with Freepers,do you still need tickets to the parade?
AFAIK, you only need tickets to sit in the bleachers. Standing room on the street is open to the general public. You will not need parade tickets to stand with the FReepers at the D.C. Chapter's permitted areas.
We plan to attend the Ball (and I am hoping to stand with DC Freepers at parade)
Me, my wife Addie and our daughter Alice who is 17. We are near Charlottesville, VA.
We all have fond memories of the 2000 event.

ok I am a detail person and I hope I don't drive you nuts here but I have another question. Tickets for the bleachers? So if the street is open to the public, will I still be standing with fellow FReepers? Ok I'll just patiently await all answers, but I'm just so dang excited!! I'm the star in my "crowd" of friends here at home and they don't believe that I'm actually going to be a part of all this!!!
!
I plan to attend. . .now, what were the hotel booking details again?
Count me in.
Actually, I'd like 2 tickets, will be attending with my wife.
Keep us posted!
Jim,
Would love to attend!! Save a place for TWO to FOUR.
