Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
Yes, I am very interested in going to your party Jan. 20th.
I just joined Free Republic and I'm looking forward to it.
conniew and
Entropy Squared
Some great guests - Sean Hannity, Matt Drudge, Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter. I'm sure they have their own balls but maybe they would pop in.
John O' Neill and the Swiftvets would also be terrific.
Alright, you're going! So we'll see you at the FR Ball and at CPAC? :-)
Thanks, we're inviting all these and many more. Hope to have many of our favorite conservatives there.
Thank you all very much for signing up. We will formalize the details and begin the actual ticket sales next week, watch for the banners and announcements. We're going to have about a thousand tickets available and we'll need to work fast on this so we can cover the deposits. The tickets will be made available first to FReepers and their family members and guests.
I hope we get a chance to meet you all! I don't think I've ever actually met a FReeper from Rhode Island yet ;-)
It was a wild and crazy time at the last Freeper Ball. Hopefully our name tags will stay stuck on us this time, so we know who everyone is!
Sign me up
Mr. and Mrs. CobaltBlue plus two Blue children would love to come - need I mention that while we are Blue, we vote Red?
Any idea how we can get hotel rooms? I checked all the hotels and there is nothing available.
May not be any available in DC. Kristinn may have some ideas of where else to look.
please include me in the list of people wanting to go to the ball. I would like 6 tickets if I can round up 5 more friends.
Count me in for it!!!!
Definely two, possibly four.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
ping for later
Our son Sean and his wife Juli will be going from Phoenix, AZ. Thanks!!
Count me plus one.
I hope you have already added Marissa and me to the list!!!
Ooops. LOL. Yup, you're both on the list.
Damn! I may be Bombay, India on that date!
(This is NOT a joke!)
I would like two tickets.
