I believe PA will need to have a recount. Rendell just signed it into law a few months ago.
County Election Returns
Unofficial - 2004 General Election - Unofficial
Returns are unofficial until county election officials certify their returns to the Secretary of the Commonwealth *** Returns were last updated 11/3/2004 2:23:01 AM *** *** 8,693 out of 9,457 Districts (91.92%) Reporting Statewide ***
President of the United States
Candidate Votes KERRY, JOHN F. (DEM) 2,645,385 BUSH, GEORGE W. (REP) 2,464,481 BADNARIK, MICHAEL (LIB)
I believe this should force a recount as it is well within the 2 or 2.5% (I am not sure which) that mandates a recount.
Can anyone help me out here? If my thinking is right and they perform a recount they might just catch some of the Philly and Pitts. fraud.
This could get really messy if I am thinking right.
I believe that the 2 or 2.5% is of the total vote. On roughly 5 million votes, that would be 100,000 or 125,000. Hopefull Bush will close within this margin, but I'm comfortable with everthing else that is happening.
automatic recount doesn't kick in until .25% they say - a long way off; current margin of victory by Bush is 2%
that's .25% as in 1/4 of 1%
