I don't understand how we can know Bush or Kerry has won any of the states yet, since it doesn't appear that any of them have anywhere close to 100% reported yet. Can anyone tell me how the map at www.gopusa.com can already have some states colored blue and red when some of these states have only reported as little as 1% of their votes? How do we extrapolate a win for either candidate with so little data? Or am I truly missing something?

Because none of the states were expected to be that close and the exit polling confirmed it and the initial precint results match the exit polling.
