I have turned off all TV and am simply reading this thread. I did get to hear Mitch Daniels acceptance speech. YAY! Then our local NBC channel switched to Russert and Brokaw. Russert didn't look too happy, and that was enough to put a smile on my face! HA!

I am sitting here in silence following this thread. It is much more pleaant than watching these windbags on the news channels (and that includes Fox).

I watched Mitch Daniels give his very gracious victory speech. Like you, I noticed the not-so-happy look on Russert's potato face. (Hey! I just realized he's a Russe(r)t potato!) Even though Evan Bayh retained his Senate seat, we have reason to be smiling.

I've been doing the same all evening--it's the way to go. I have my dog and cat within petting distance and PURE SILENCE. It's great--I highly recommend it. Susan Estrich's voice will ruin your hearing--puncture your eardrum. Irrepairable, so I've heard.
