I remember in 2000 when Bush was up big in Michigan, then came Detroit's precinct returns and turned blue in an instant. I hope Bush has enough votes to offset this.

My memories of Detroit end in the summer of 1967 when, as an 11 year old boy, standing on the back porch of our Livonia home with my father, looking at the smoke to the east. I asked him, "What't that?" He was acting in a way I had never seen and didn't understand, but said, (no lie) "It's the end of the world as we know it." One month later we moved. Haven't been back since.
