Watching Daschle's campaign cratering was one of the most enjoyable parts of this election. Watching Lurch and the Ketchup Queen eating crow will be even sweeter.

regarding the Senate, I see us with net +4 -- pickups in NC, SC, GA, FL, LA, & SD -- loses in IL and CO and holds in AK and OK. Net +4. Agreed? 55-44-1. Sweet.

Thune:

U S SENATE
(D) DASCHLE TOM 186254 49 805 827
(R) THUNE JOHN 194789 51 805 827

10 of the 22 precincts are in Shannon County, heavily Native American. The population of the county is about 12,000. No way there are 8,000 votes there. No way. The other 12 are in:

Butte County (5) - Pop 9094; West River; No Reservations -- should go to Thune

Fall River (4) -- Pop 7043; West River; No Reservations --- Should go to Thune

Hanson (1) -- Pop 3139; East River; No Reservations --- Near Mitchell, SD, rural

Todd (2/9) -- Pop 9050; Indian Country -- will go for Daschle.

It's over. There isn't enough Native American vote left. And it will be countered by Republican counties.
