Just heard the El Paso County (Colorado) County Recorder (in charge of elections). 91,000 absentee and early voters already voted (big increase over prior years, and we have had early voting since 1996). He reported also that this is very heavy turnout (as I mentioned earlier at my own precinct). This is huge since El Paso has to offset Denver and Boulder. This may be the single most Republican county of over 300,000 in the country. Three military bases and the Air Force Academy. Over 100 Evangelical organizations. If we are getting that big of turnout, watch for a repeat of 2002 with Bush winning by around 7-9 and if that is the case, Coors is going to win.

We're in Douglas County, Colorado, also pretty conservative. My hubby had to wait in line for 1 1/2 hours last week in early voting! There were also long lines for early voting in Denver (more Rats there).

Hope you are right about El Paso County. My neice shook VP Cheney's hand in Colo Spgs yesterday. His visit was being spun as "Colorado is in play". I personally think he is trying to put Coors over the top. Salazar is a sleaze.
