Look to add to the Senate GOP lead with a DeMint win.
We have a very popular GOP Gov (not up for Re-election this year)who will likely bring in a few more GOPers to the state house. Our Gov (Mark Sanford) will probably be talked about for national office in '08.

Just voted!
People had a look in their eye, last time I saw that look was 1994 - Republican Revolution! I'm the former Republican Precinct President for my precinct and it is a Republican precinct.

Walked in and out of my polling place in about 20 minutes. This is solid Bush Country. DeMint, despite his best efforts, will win.

Upstate SC checking in.

Went to my polling place in northern G-ville Co. at 6:30am. I was 10th in line. They had 4 touch voting machines. They had trouble turning them on. Didn't open the line until 7:05am with only one machine working. I had to go at 7:30 to take children to school. At that time, only two ppl had voted! Went outside and there had to be 200+ ppl standing in line to vote. Poll worker said that our precinct has over 1000 registered. Later at 9am, I went back. Waited for over 1 hour, still only 3 machines working. Husband went around 11am and still hour wait. Very big turnout!

Lexington District One - was in line at 6:55 a.m. Waited an hour and poll manager came out and said they had the wrong ballots for our district (all touch screen voting at this location).

They started printing out paper ballots. About 30 minutes later they reported the problem fixed and touch screen voting continued. Apparently they got it fixed through the internet. Makes one a little uneasy. Other than that no problems and the biggest turn out that I've seen since I've been voting.

Do you remember 4 years ago how the MSM would not call SC for Bush, even hours after WIS had called it.

I can call SC for Bush now!

Vote in Charleston area at 1:30pm. NO WAIT at all. 1st Cong District Henry Brown against a Green Party Cnadidate. Cannot vote for Brown, he's a conservative 'POLITICIAN'. I cannot vote for him or a dem or a green. If you live in 1st cong district and want the name of someone to write in let me know. Brown will win and vote w/ Bush but I cannot vote for Brown.

Got mine in at lunchtime. Long line at Greenville 26, six machines, all seemingly working ok. Doesn't make me feel any better about trusting my vote to a little box of switches, though. I should know, I'm around them all day.

OK..y'all..flame suit on.. I'm just gonna haul off and say this, in public..I've seen all the debates on C-span, and as you know from my comments on the SC threads, I've followed this..and personally, I like Inez.. I mean, she's a hell of a politician...look at all the baggage she has to carry down there..Kerry/Kennedy/and Daschle..at least 20x by my count..she refused to say if she'd vote for Daschle as Majority Leader.. The little lady's got cojones........I mean, Inez Tennenbaum...that's a QUADRUPLE PLAY..female/Jewish/ Hispanic, and in education....in New York..she'd be a lock...except she's waay to conservative to ever get a Dem nomination to anything up here.. She seems personable...after the election, can't you co-opt her?..get her to switch parties, and run her for something? You've got the Dem party by the throat..don't let go..The face of the Dem party in the south from now on, ain't Inez..it's CYNTHIA MCKINNEY......She's BAAAAACCCCCCKKKK!!!!!!!

In Horry (pronounced O-ree)County here. Vote at a small precint. I got there at 6:50 and was the 3rd person. When I left at 7:10, there were about 20 people waiting to vote. The worker there said it was the first time there have been people waiting in line at 7 am. From the bumper stickers I saw, this is a good thing for us.

...she refused to say if she'd vote for Daschle as Majority Leader...

That didn't take political courage to be mum on the subject. It would have been political suicide to answer that question either way. If she had offered support for Daschle she'd have turned off some centrist Democrats - whom are numerous. If she had given no support of might have favored better in the polls but she would have been the DP's bastard child.
