Put info and links about Tennessee here.
Tried to early vote in East Memphis. Had the kids and the line was unbelievable. Wife and I decided to leave. As we were walking out my 4 year old exclaimed excitedly in her "outside" voice, "Daddy, some of those people were going to vote for John Kerry!!!!!!" (She can read the buttons) An old couple walking out in front of us turned and scowled. I was about to crack up but I turned to my daughter and comforted her by saying, " Yes honey I know. It is really sad." That really pissed off the Democrats!
I am on my way to vote in Grand Junction, 50 miles east of Memphis...Wet but no rain now....
Probably 70% black in my precinct, where they would vote for some cartoon character, if he has a "D" by the name, so we will not win here, but I am sure TN will be for Bush.
South Tipton?!! Where are you? I'm in Drummonds.
In Murfreesboro, I passed two schools around 7:30 am. The first school was closed and looked like a voting precinct. Vehicles parked everywhere you could fit one.
The second school didn't look like a voting precinct. Several cars there, but it looked like a normal school day. However, they had several Kerry signs and Larry Trail signs in the school yard. Union members I guess...
I believe you can undervote.
Al Gore leading lol
I'm in Atoka. Good to see a fellow Tipton county person on this site. I know TN will go for Bush. I'm just praying for the rest of the states.
Definitely a beautiful day in upper East Tennessee! I voted a week ago, but I drove by a couple of polling places this morning and they seemed pretty active. This is hardcore GOP territory!
There are no Senate or Governor races here this year, but there will still be a great turnout for the President. We have a leftist Rat running against our GOP congressman Bill Jenkins, but Jenkins will crush him. The Rat is a Michael Moore fan who attended the premier of Fahrenheit 9/11 here a few months ago. Yeah, that'll go over here real well!
Bush will win Tennessee in a landslide, and an even bigger landslide in upper East Tennessee!
No. You can undervote. But you have to vote for one person (in any race) for it to accept the ballot.
This came from my Mom who worked a booth for almost twenty years.
Celebrity sightings? Who? Who? Who!!

Forest Hills, S. suburban Nashville. Arrived at the polling place at 7:10 expecting to be the only one there. Shocked to see a full parking lot and a line stretching out the front door and down the sidewalk. People behind me in line making disparaging remarks about Michael Moore. No sKerry campaign presence at all, not even a sign. There was a GWB sign. Took 1 hour to get to the head of the line and vote. On the way out, the line was almost as long as it had been when I arrived.
Several Kerry signs placed outside the school. Plus, one black and white pooch tethered to the bike rack. Not sure if the latter is to be regarded as a political statement.
From radio reports this morning, about 2.2 million people voted in the 2000 election. They expected about 2.5 total. Over 1.1 million voted early. As of now, starting to sprinkle and cloud over in Knoxville, but was beautiful this morning.
Voted early. Chatted with others in line in Jonesborough Courthouse and not a Kerry supporter was in evidence out of the twenty plus in line. Asked a Sheriff's deputy outside what his impression was --Bush or Kerry getting the most votes? He was matter-of-fact in saying he had seen three Lesbians vote and had a Kerry bumperstick on their SUV, and those were the only ones he thought even remotely were Kerry fans.
Faith and Tim.
