I'm a poll checker on break in Hampton, NH. Turnout was very high this morning but it has slowed down now. Strong turnout from Republicans, most new registrants are undeclared but for those picking a party, it's pretty much 50-50 Rs and Ds.

AP compiles some anecdotal evidence from across the state to determine turnout is heavy in the Granite State. One town mentioned is Bedford, a traditionally GOP leaning town, where a co-worker also notes he waited in line for 2 hours to vote.

Hampton's down near Massachusetts. If it's 50-50 down there, that's probably a good sign. The folks up in Littleton and Lebanon will pick up the slack.

I just got back from voting in Bedford. There was a 1 1/2 hour wait - the line stretched completely around the building, and no one that I spoke to ever remembered seeing anything like it. The good news is that this area is heavily Republican. Go Bush!!!

Turn out heavy in Manchester Ward 11. Funny story. On the way out of the polls, my wife and I walked to the polls, we approached an intersection where an elderly lady was looking for directions to another polling location (another elementary school). There were several Kerry campaign workers carrying signs standing near her car. She asked them for directions and both of them looked at eachother like they were asked to explain the theory of relativity. "They don't know where that is, they're from Massachusetts." I said rather loudly. The campaign workers slumped their shoulders and smiled awkwardly obviously very embarassed. The elderly lady chuckled while I gave her directions.

Here's a report from small-town Central NH.
I have voted in the same place for twelve years, and I drive to work through six other small towns.
My polling place is accessed by a 150' driveway.
It took 30 minutes to get in this morning, compared to the usual zero minutes.
The driveway was lined-no, encased-with huge Kerry/Edwards signs, wall-to-wall, entire length. No Bush signs anywhere.
There were three Kerry-Edwards standarounds on the drive in to vote, with about 15-20 signholders each. No Bush supporters in sight.
On the way to work, I passed though six towns-one resort, three farming, one post-industrial, and one urban.
The drive today was through a forest of Kerry signs, Kerry supporters, and Kerry banners. I saw a few crumpled (and small) Bush-Cheney roadside signs, but no supporters-not one.
I'm sure the state is close, and I'm sure Bush supporters have real jobs that they have to go to.
But the Kerry ground game in an historically Republican area that Bush won handily in 2000 today was very, very impressive.
I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it up here.
I got to the polls in Bedford at 6:30am, and there were about 200-300 people in front of me. When I left around 7:15, the parking lot was completely packed. I think this is a good sign for Bush!
NH Voters, get to the polls early. Don't get shut out because of long lines when the polls close!
I haven't voted yet as I'm waiting for Mr NHD to come home. However, while out today in the car, it seemed like every large intersection between Merrimack and Nashua (rte. 101A) had Kerry signholders on 4 sides of the intersection, waving signs, giving thumbs up (I gave thumbs down to some nice granny type waving a sign in my face). I got caught in a long red light three stops in a row and found the whole thing annoying. Wish some people were out there for Bush.....
Party Chairwoman Jane Millerick said she got reports that members of a liberal voter organization called Moveon.org were electioneering illegally, inside polling places. Millerick said the activists were inside, supposedly as exit pollsters, trying to persuade voters to cast ballots for Democrats.
Assistant Attorney General Bud Fitch said his office looked into the GOP complaints and found that at some polling places, exit pollsters were wearing or carrying partisan information.
At those places, he said moderators ordered the workers either to remove their stickers or sent them outside to electioneering spots.
Exit pollsters are allowed inside or outside polling places, depending on space, but they can't wear or carry anything that associates them with a partisan group.
Fitch said as of midmorning, his office had not discovered any major problems.
I just spoke to my wife. We live less than a mile from the polling place in Bedford. She said the lines were out of the building. I have never seen them that long. Very interesting.
I am almost concerned that if I don't get there soon I might miss my chance to vote. I mean, if you are in line, will they turn you away if the polls close? I have never tried to vote that late before.
Anyway, if you live in Bedford, and you are putting it off, do what Curt Shilling said and VOTE! ASAP!
Most Bush supporters work, therefore, they don't have the time to stand in the streets...
I saw those same morons last night (by Golds Gym on 101A). I enjoyed yelling at them as I drove by. I wished there were large puddles nearby so that I could splash them as I drove by.
Just heard on NECN that they kept open a poll beyond closing time in Manchester for a rather lengthly line of voters who were, get this, ALL NEW VOTERS. What's up with that? Hoping they weren't all those Mass plates that showed up to stand out all over Southern NH.
Drudge has NH leaning towards Bush now !!!

I was just feeling so bad about NH going for Kerry I bowed my head and prayed that God would somehow bring our beautiful state around and that Bush would win.
Then I see pink!
