in Southern IL (Randolph County) out of all the yard signs... 80% are BUSH signs or local republicans, and the other 20% are sKerry and local democrats.

heading out now to cast my vote for BUSH!

Voted at 11 a.m. in Macoupin County, heavy Democratic (no Republicans running for county offices). The only contested races on the ballot are President, Senator, Congressman, and Circuit Judge. Yet, I was number 718, which means about 1/3 of the registered voters in the township had voted by then. Probably looking at a 75-80% turnout. Big turnout in my town, usually means Republican candidates do better. If this is being replicated throughout Downstate, we may have a few surprises tonight.

I took my 5 year-old grand nephew with me (I pick him up from pre-school). He got an "I voted" sticker, and they let him come into the voting booth with me. We use the optical scan ballots, where you fill in the oval.

No one ahead of me in line, so it went quick.

Do you live in Chester? I'm in Murphysboro(Jackson County) I know quite a few dems who are voting for W.
