It's a little-known fact, but the ABA is just...a club, I guess, a guild, a professional association. Authority over lawyers and the practice of law rests with the Supreme Court of the United States, for federal law practice, and the highest Courts of the several States, for the practice of state and local law. In many cases, the courts look to the bar associations (there is one in each State, as well as many local associations) for "advice and consent," as it were, with their regulations but the court retains authority.

Wisconsin has a unified/integrated bar - the Court and the State Bar Ass'n are linked, and you must be a member of the Ass'n to practice. I know in some states, that's not the case though, and you can get away with just being sworn in before the court, and not have to join the bar ass'n.

I believe the Illinois bar is not unified/integrated.

There are now a total of 11 huge greyhound buses chartered from CHICAGO here in Kenosha parked at the local union buildings. HQ sent me out to get pictures of the buses and plates. Bad thing is it wasn't a digital camera so will have to wait for the pics.

There are. Lawyer are not to be anywhere NEAR polling places. Their presence is considered intimidation. Neither are reporters/camerapeople (not inside), but they're breaking the law anyway in Ohio. Heard the UAW is being naughty here in Michigan. Guess that's why they got the day off.

I fully expect that these bused in "sign wavers" will become "voters" after 7:30pm tonight.

we need people out there to monitor the union buildings and watch for the fraud.

But more importantly, we need people to get to the HQ and volunteer!!!!
