Let me 'splain it to you. The US military, as opposed to that in banana republics, is comprised of individuals who are more religious, patriotic and independent than the country as a whole. Jacksonian Americans are dominant in the US military. Clinton tried to change that, but he could not in only 8 years.
Leftists are against the US military so long as it is not controlled by them, in terms of its culture, values and willingness to do the left's bidding. If they ever took power, they would not use the US military as their own, they would defeat the US military, as Lenin defeated Czarist forces, and then create their own, People's Army.
That could never happen here, of course, because unlike Cuba, France and China, the free people here possess their own guns. That's the whole point of the 2nd amendment. That doesn't mean that leftists won't go underground someday and commit violent acts. Leftists gave the Soviets the bomb, after all. They are capable of great damage to this country, and great hatred of it.

Believe it or not, one reason I posted what I did was to illustrate that the Left can be just as militaristic and trigger-happy as we can. They have this undeserved pacifist-wimp image, and wimps don't make revolutions. Unfortunately, many on our side help promote this view.
We must never forget that there is a merciless mailed fist inside that wimpy "pacifist" glove--and a clenched one at that.
