Our receptionist admitted this morning she only registered last year and voted for the first time. She's 41.

I have no predictions to make because I know nothing but this .... I worked my tail off for my President and I am praying so hard my heart hurts. I hope and pray that we deserve his re-election because we go out and vote for him. It is ours for the taking.
The optimism in this thread is encouraging. I thank all of you for making these past few months tolerable. Many of you are true patriots and it has been a blessing to have this forum!

Go W~!

"hear the lamentations of their women..." Would that be the Dixie Chicks and the Hollyweird collection of raving idiot females?

It would be amazing if the polls are off that badly, but I sure hope you're right.

The only thing that makes me think the polls could be off sa much is the 2002 election for governor here in Florida. Going into that election, the polls showed Jeb Bush with a slight lead or (if I remember right) slight deficit to Bill McBride. Jeb won the election by somewhere around 14 points. That election was a good indication to me that the pollsters have no idea how to accurately capture voter preferences in the wake of September 11th. That day changed EVERYTHING in this country.

If that were true, we would be talking about at least 330 electorals, if not more. That means that almost every swing state will go Bush.

I am not saying you are wrong, but if you are right, I will personally make it out and party in downtown DC tonight.

I have become VERY suspicious of polls in the past few cycles. How many people screen calls using caller ID or call intercept? I sure do. If it looks like a telemarketer call it goes to voice mail.

I have the feeling that phone polling is no longer a good tool to truly measure public opinion.

aaack! You knew who I meant when I mistakenly called Daschle Tiny Tim. LOL at myself

Long lines in the rain here at our polls but our only surprise would be if Bayh lost his Senate seat (ain't gonna happen). This state usually votes GOP for President but scratches for Dim guv/senate/congress.

This could be the year that the downstaters outweigh the Chicago vote.

I know Daley and Bush worked together in the days after 9-11, and Daley's praised Bush publicly. Maybe a bit of a whisper went out to the almighty Chicago Machine to throw a little sand in the gears. Chicago will still vote, but I don't think we'll see the knock-and-drag effort of 2000.

Go Bush in IL!

>>Instead, the election was called for Bush before I finished eating.

Should have listened to the NPR coverage of the 1988 election. I'm not sure they have yet to call a winner.

I was driving home listening to Cokie Roberts on NPR radio telling everyone to brew up a pot of coffee because it was going to be a late night before we learn who wins the Presidential election. I walked into the house very concerned and my wife informed me that the TV networks had already called the election a couple of hours earlier.
