CT FReeper RaceBannon is staging a one-man FReep in his hometown (won't name it here) as I type this. He's sitting at a busy traffic intersection with a giant Viet Nam Vets or Vets Against Kerry sign, getting lots of honks and thumbs up! Way to go, Race!

Heavy traffic reported at many polling places in the Hartford, CT area. Weather is overcast here, rain expected around dinner time. Polls in CT open 6am - 8pm.

My mother already voted for Dubya and straight Republican via absentee ballot; my husband and I will vote the same way some time today (we live in a small town - 10 minute wait at the most, usually). MANY members of our extended families will be casting votes for Dubya throughout the country.

My husband said that the fact that the market is up today could only bode well for a Bush win (also may have to do with oil prices).

Voted at 9:45 and lines were nothing to speak of. Pollwatchers said it was busy between 6:00 - 6:45 a.m. with people wanting to vote before polls opened. I'm on call to drive pubbies to the polls so I'm hoping to be kept as busy as Ohio seems to be. Just heard that turnout was extremely high.

Any reading on how Chris Shays is doing? I was surprised to hear he's fighting for his political career and would like to believe people are holding a grudge over his vote not to impeach X42.
