Oh dear! My first vote for President was in 1956 for Eisenhower! At least Ike wasn't running against a sleazebag. Stevenson just wasn't up to the job of being President (the well-meaning but incompetent President in "Dr. Strangelove" was based on Stevenson) but he wasn't a sleazebag like You-Know-Who.

Stevenson was a very good man. But, I think the job would have overwhelmed him. Ike was definitely the better choice.

Yes..I was all for Stevenson in 52 when I wasn't old enough..but I voted Republican in 56(first in the family) and have never changed..raised some good conservatives,too!
