CBS Upbeat on Kerry, Downbeat on Bush & Harps on Confetti Miscue

On Friday, for the second night in a row, the CBS Evening News provided downbeat coverage for George Bush's campaign day and an upbeat look at John Kerry's. With "Rallying Cry" as the on-screen peg, Byron Pitts began his story on Kerry's day by portraying Osama bin Laden's message as playing into Kerry's hand: "Osama bin Laden was already a key part of John Kerry's campaign, the foundation of his argument that President Bush is unfit for office."

But for Bush, the MRC's Brad Wilmouth observed, CBS put "Bad Week" on the screen as the network treated a meaningless miscue on when to drop confetti as a metaphor for an unsure campaign. Bush's "attempt to seal the deal with voters didn't always go off as planned," Dan Rather intoned. Bill Plante began: "It's been a bad week for a President who doesn't like surprises. That was only an air cannon full of confetti going off early, but it came on top of days of questions about the missing Iraqi explosives and word of a widening investigation into Halliburton. And Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, who was supposed to add some star power to Mr. Bush's campaign swing through New Hampshire, suddenly cancelled citing his injured ankle." Plante warned that while "outwardly the President's team is confident, privately they're concerned that they could lose a few key states."

Hmmmmm, did they mention the miscue at the Dem convention????

I forget the exact quote ... something like:

"Balloons. More balloons. Balloons please. get the balloons.
.... (Goes on for 2 minutes) ... Where are the fU*(*&)((*&#$ing balloons?"

Poor old Rather.
Its no wonder some guy beat him up some years ago.
He just can't do anything right can he?
Even his pathetic attempts to influence the elections by passing on a fraudulent document misfired badly, sending President bush's poll numbers soaring even higher!
Now its virtually certain President Bush WILL WIN tomorrow.
What is a bitter frustrated, nasty , vicious 73 year old man to do?
Ah well there is always North Korea... heard they were looking for a new Chief Disinformation and Propaganda Officer in that country

Maybe they should harp on the totally kick a** rallies that Bush and Cheney have had over the past week. 10k+ of enthusiatic supporters at each. MSM -- bugger off.

Is anyone going to be taking screen captures of all the lib anchors as their tears streak down their faces as they report Bush the winner?

After the election, we need to keep up the efforts to make sure that CBS continues on a downward spiral of viewership.

I think I will send all of the local CBS affiliates and the CBS headquarters condolence cards saying something like:

"I am so sorry to to hear of the death of your son, The Kerry Campaign. I am equally sorry to hear of the terminal illness of your entire family of liberals.....NOT!

Good riddance!"

Sorry Plante, but Schilling was out campaigning with Bush. Our next mission is to make the MSM even more irrelevent than they are already.

My local news, in their coverage of "the election", showed Kerry headquarters, talked to Kerry supporters and the last image was a bunch of Dem yard signs. They mentioned the Bush campaign, showed the headquarters and talked to no one.

Even my husband commented upon the imbalance. This same station has a special "voter problem" phone number to call tomorrow. (Channel 5, Cincinnati).
