DRUMMER SAYS AEROSMITH WON'T PLAY FOR JOHN KERRY
93x ^ | 11/01/2004

Presidential candidate Senator John Kerry wins the election on Tuesday, he probably shouldn't invite AEROSMITH to play for him. Kerry wanted AEROSMITH to play the Democratic convention in Boston in late July, but the band was on tour in Japan, so frontman Steven Tyler said they'd play the inaugural if Kerry won. However, drummer Joey Kramer told Launch that there won't be any such appearances. "The band will not be performing for John Kerry. Unfortunately, he (Steven) volunteers his own services, and he volunteered the services of the band, but unfortunately at the time, I think he forgot to discuss it with the rest of us. And everybody has their views and feelings politically — obviously, we don't all agree — and so, you know, we couldn't come to a, a decision, and so it was decided not to get done."

If there ever was a band that should have given it up long ago, this is them...

No, it's Bon Jovi

Yeah but all Tyler contributed is he screwed Liv's groupie mom, who thought Liv was Todd Rundgren's child until Liv was an adult and met Tyler's other daughters, found out they looked alike, checked with her Mom who said "yeah it's possible (probably screwed 100 other guys)" then they did the DNA tests and voila its his kid. But he wasn't exactly a real father to her, even now I read they don't really get along or see much of each other, which is not surprising if you think about it.

But "Dude Looks Like a Lady" would have been perfect for John Edwards.

John Kerry on Aerosmith

"I soooo enjoy the lyrics of Aeroflot. I think they speak to the young people. I especially enjoy their remake Train Kept a Rumblin. The first time I heard Aeroflot's version, I thought, my garsh, that reminds me of listening to the Backyard Birds while I floated up the Mekong into Cambodia Christmas Eve with the Hessian CIA operative on board.

But my wife's personal fave (if I can borrow the modern lingo) her fave would be that classic 60's song Floatin In the Sand. I remember singing that song to her on our honeymoon."

Whatever you may say about Steven Tyler, he did produce Liv, so you have to give him props for that.

Are you kidding? He should be shot for that!! Liv is the most annoying whiney actress. Every time I see her snivel and sob it makes me want to vomit and usually ruins the movie experience.

Heh. I saw them in July at Tokyo Dome. I'm not nearly as interested in them as I once was, but they're still good when they play the old stuff from the 70s/early 80s. The last 10-15 years of Aerosmith has been pretty uneventful, however they are still a great band in my opinion. I find myself listening to more recent Scandinavian Death/Thrash/Black metal now though. The older I get, the younger I get. I love it. Come to Japan sometime and party with some real rockers!!!!! Most of my friends are libs, and are totally *SHOCKED* when I tell them I'm not pansy ass lefty like them. I'm glad I can add Joey Kramer to my list of celebrity conservatives now. Has anyone else been keeping a list?

You had the Keira Knightley picture out pretty darn quick the other evening too. Interesting.

Why would Kerry want them? They had a song called "Eat The Rich". Does Kerry want to be eaten?

Between Curt coming out for Dubya, and Steven's own band telling him to take a hike, I'm pretty upbeat. It just seems like nothing can go Kerry's way, doesn't it? LOL

Pardon me, I was being a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal sexist pig conservative male and making a purely physical judgement. ;-) Don't have an opinion on her acting one way or the other.
