It's when FReepers post their own thoughts on a seperate thread. It can be useful and annoying at the same time.
Vanity posts are creations of the poster - him or herself. Usually Non-News posts. No links,etc.

A vanity post can be either an opinion piece by a poster, or an unsourced article. Sometimes they're a good thing, sometimes they're a bad thing. Posting too many of them ("My every thought deserves its own thread!") is definitely bad.
