My Son May be Dead

Posted on 11/01/2004 5:38:38 PM PST by american_ranger

Tomorrow I and my wife will vote for George W. Bush. Tonight, I heard on the radio that an Army soldier was killed in an ambush in southeast Afghanistan. My son is stationed in southeast Afghanistan. I checked Fox news and they have an article about a US soldier killed and two wounded in a patrol near Orgun. My son is on a patrol near Orgun. I do not care if it is him, tomorrow we will still vote for Bush. God bless America and God bless President Bush.

I have not told my wife. She is worried enough that Kerry might win. She does not need this additional worry.

Praying for you, and hoping you will get good news. But I pray for the Soldier and his family no matter who they are. God bless all our heroes.

As we vote today, let us never forget that we do so because of the bravery and sacrifice of people like you and your son.

May the peace of God guard your heart during this time of not knowing about the welfare of your son.

My dear FRiend:
It is people like you and your family who have made our country the best there is.
I pray to our Lord your son is safe... as a matter of fact, I pray everybody's sons and daughters are safe while carrying out the most difficult tasks there are. I also pray for some light to shine on the hard-headed, side-blinded minds of our home-bound, non-fighting, punch-dodging (but punch-delivering, in a sort of "civil war" fashion) liberals here.
I pray GWB is reelected and that God helps him to lead this country.

American ranger;
You are in our thoughts and prayers. What a tremendous sacrifice our troops and their families make on a daily basis to keep our country safe. God's peace and blessings to you.

god bless you. i just don't know how you parents of deployed soldiers get through every day--other than knowing that your child or loved one is really God's and he ultimately has hold on their life.

I was born in 1947 and vaugely remember the Korean War. I served in Vietnam for 13 months in a Marine rifle company (C-1-5) from 4-67 to 5-68. I believe that in my life time there was not been a more noble cause by American forces than the liberation of Afghanistan. When I finish this, before I go back to work, I will get on my knees and pray. You, your family and your son make me so proud to be an American. I love you. God bless you.

I don't know what I can say that can give you any comfort now, but I will try. Your son, as a soldier fighting in a far off land for the freedom and future of his family and country, is a brave, selfless, strong man. In a very real way, he is my hero.

I cannot fathom the worriness and anxiety that you must be experiencing right now, but I pray to the Lord God that he will protect your son and keep him safe on earth, and that he will bless your son in Heaven if the unthinkable should occur.
And may God bless you, and ease your worried mind and heavy heart.
