This is one of the more ingenius ideas of this campaign--the Bush campaign has a way for us to call Republican voters in swing states to urge them to get out and vote for the president tomorrow! You can do this from your own phone at home with numbers provided on Bush's website!
DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY AND DON'T BE SHY! Now is not the time to be fearful! Make this effort! Whoever turns out their party's faithful tomorrow will win. Please help with this, it could make all the difference in a tight race! We could be the ones who tip the balance in some important states over to Bush helping to give him the win tomorrow.
I've called 30 numbers now and people are more than pleasant, so don't let your fears stop you!
All you have to do is go to Bush's website, www.georgewbush.com. You then click the link near the top of the page to become a volunteer. You then just have to provide a small amount of information to register as a volunteer. After you've successfully registered by clicking the BOTTOM RED SUBMIT BUTTON, CLICK THE BOTTOM ONE, it will then give you a script and list of names in one of the swing states to call.
It will probably take about 15 minutes of your time and cellphone minutes, but the future of the country is at stake. If you call during your nights and weekends minutes, the calls won't cost you anything in terms of cell minutes. But keep in mind the time zone differences and don't call in any time zone after 9PM. And call tomorrow on election day if you don't get to it tonight. If you have the time and energy, get additional batches of numbers to call. The more the better!
If you are calling from your home phone, the long distance charges will be minimal and a SMALL investment of money and time to make to ensure we keep America safe by keeping Kerry out of the White House.
PLEEEEEEEEEEEASSSSSSSSSEEEEE HELP AND DO THIS! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!! PLEASE DO THIS ASAP!!! E-MAIL THIS TO OTHER BUSH SUPPORTERS YOU KNOW!
I wouldn't be so sure. It's still a bad idea to publish a calling list on the internet with no control over the number of calls that would be made. Bad, bad, bad. I've have pretty good instincts.
We'd have these same voter lists if we were in a BC04 office volunteering. The only difference is we're at home. I don't think people need to know that. Nor did anyone ask where I was calling from. I really don't think most people will have a problem with that.
What do think will happen when one BC voter gets 50 phone calls? The lists in a controlled environment are spit out to different people so it's not the same.
They ran out of phone numbers!!
Behold the power of Freep!!
I got an email yesterday from Bush/Cheney campaign about doing this. I'll admit that I was uncertain about making phone calls to people in another state and reaching angry Kerry supporters.
But, this morning, I thought I have to do as much as I possibly can do as just one person in order to help President Bush. (I've already given maximum donations to the President, as well as every close Republican Senate seat.)
So, I clicked off the email to the Bush/Cheney campaign saying 'yes, I will make 15 phone calls for President Bush.'
They emailed me 15 names and phone numbers, all from Florida. The email included a short upbeat script saying basically, I'm calling for President Bush to ask for your vote, etc.
Gathering my resolve, I placed the 15 calls, and I was SO encouraged after doing so. The households that I reached, about half ...were all enthusiastic Bush voters. The other half were answering machines, where I left a brief message to vote tomorrow and vote for President Bush. Not one negative or angry response.
How do we know they ran out of numbers?
If you look on the list online, it says once you check it off online, the number is taken out of the system. Why are you looking for any negative you can come up with on this? Don't you think the campaign has considered the ramifications of this? Of course they're smart enough to make sure numbers checked off as having been called won't be called twice. Not one person I spoke with indicated they've already been called.
THE LINK WORKS NOW I JUST GOT 15 NEW NUMBERS
I haven't had anyone tell me that they had been called either.
IT WORKS NOW!
Wild, fact free speculation. Just trying to imagine their servers trying to keep up with 10,000 freepers requesting 25 numbers all at the same time.
Great idea--everyone call these voters!!
When it gets late, we need to CALL HAWAII. Then ALASKA. Keep that Senate seat in the GOP column (I know we disagree with Murkowski 1/2 the time but we can sort that out later). There are VERY FEW VOTERS TO CALL because the state is tiny by population, thus each call is a big call.
Remember to remind them that Kerry wants to increase the military by 40,000--totally debunking the BOGUS rumor that the President will bring back the draft. Also, remind them that it was the DEMOCRATS that put forward a bill to start the draft again!
Also, remind them that as young voters a partial-privatization of Social Security is in their interest--since they will bare the burden of SS funding for the Baby Boomers. It would also be a long-term investment that they and their heirs would benefit from.
Also remind them that Kerry's tax increases will harm small business--making it tougher for young people to find jobs.
Young voters probably respect your age and wisdom--so we need to pass our knowledge and experience on to them in this important election!!
I have just made my first fifteen calls. No one was thrilled to hear my voice but I am going to make calls until 830 Minnisota time.
arghhh! That was tough! I just got done calling my 15 numbers in MN...It did not go that well....3 calls could not go through....2 hang ups....a few no thank you's..some neutral stuff and three W supporters..BUT BE Careful..2 of the Bushies said I was the third call tonight! I was so pumped to here gung ho stuff...but it is MN after all. Makes me glad my Giants kicked their a$$e$ Sunday! Keep THE FAITH!!!
When I worked the phone bank I got through a few pages of numbers with no problem...lots of support, in fact. Then I picked up another two pages and was told by those I called that they had been swamped with calls and didn't like it!
I received two calls myself. One from the President and one from Laura Bush (both pre-recorded) and I enjoyed getting both of them. But a couple of the people I called said they had 14 calls in one day and were irritated by the inconvenience. As well as we have done, I think we need to do better next time so that the same lists are not called over and over again.
