We both know that the definition is kept as "loose" as possible so that the largest possible number of "injuries" become reportableBlood blisters from fingers pinched in the cocking lever probably count.

the funniest thing to happen to myself in my life was with a softball, my uncle and i were practicing pop flies in the yard when i was 9 or so, and he threw one waaaayyy up, i had my glove right in front of my face with the other hand supporting just like i was supposed to, the ball seemed to be really slow so i took my hands away to see where the ball was and BLAM!!!! broke my nose, i started crying and i saw my uncle doubled over laughing too hard to notice my injury, so ban softballs too!!!

undermining the notion that such weapons are harmless in the hands of young people. My 10 yr old has a BB Gun and has yet to put his - or anyone's eye out or do any damage with it.
Of course the only time he gets to put his hands on it is when he is with Dad.

I see me and my friends weren't the only stupid ones.
To: JFK_Lib
So the moral of the story is that getting hurt with a BB gun is about as dangerous as having a basketball poke out your eye...
To: dis.kevin
It was only stupid if someone actually got hurt; otherwise it was damn fun. :)
To: JFK_Lib
When BB guns are outlawed only cool, centered, well-behaved, religious, self-reliant, confident, honorable 10-13 year-olds will have BB guns.

I still have a chipped tooth from that girl that hit me in the mouth with the baseball.

I don't know if your're series or not. I ended up in worse shape than the kid when we were in BB gun fights. I survived. Are all of of supposed to live in a cave and eat vegetables the rest of our lives? The trial lawyers and soccer moms just don't get it. Rewind 250 years ago. Kids were run over by cattle on the range... The list is endless. Oh, don't be silly. They all died. Without government intervention, no one can live long enough to grow up and have kids.

Hell's Bell's.......I don't know how some of us baby boomers lived to be adults. I've been shot with BB guns more than once, probably had lead in the paint in our house, rode bicycles without helmets, drank out of water hoses, no seat belts...........but seriously, Hub was in law enforcement and did make a call where a child died of a BB gun wound, so our son never had one. IMHO, I think banning them is more than extreme.

umm, not on your own land which happens to be on a rural mountain, when local laws say you can't hunt within 500 feet of a dwelling.
